I have a mac mini and I have the monster cable that takes the stereo output and converts to optical input. When I have this hooked up however I still get audio comming out of the mac mini speaker in the front any way to change that?
 
You are on windows... I think there is an option under the Advanced Volume Settings to mute that speaker.
 
I figured that there should have been. I spend 99% of my time in OS X, and forgive me for being blunt, but stopping what I am doing, and then restarting my machine just for the sake of verifying something (Parallels doesn't always have all the same hardware things that a booted Windows has) is simply not something that I want to do. So instead I try to rely on my memory.
