Audio Drivers for Epox board... Epox 8KTA+ owners please help

I have an Epox 8KTA+ duron board with onboard audio. What audio drivers must I use for win98 first edition. For the life of me I can't get it to recognize the audio and the CD that Epox supplies has NUMEROUS different drivers.. Please help me.

There are a couple drivers on that page you might try. I have the same motherboard but I have the onboard audio disabled in the bios so I don't know what driver it takes.

Thanks, I think I have tried the ones that correspond on the CD with no luck...

I have downloaded both of those drivers and also ones from Via. Still no luck.. any other ideas?

And yes, it is enabled in BIOS

Did you download the one marked "VIA Apollo 686 chipset audio" and "via-686-111B.zip 1.11"?? This driver works perfectly on two machines I just built (8KTA+, Duron 700@850, Windows 2000).

The 4-in-1 driver doesn't seem to install the audio driver. You have to do that separately.

Yes, that's the one I downloaded but with no luck getting it to work. The only difference I see between our two systems is the operating system. I am beginning to think that win98 first edition doesn't support it somehow. Still waiting for a response back from Epox
