Audio Decoder Error

I just reformatted my computer. None of the hardware was changed except my graphics card was replaced and I installed the ATI Remote Wonder afterward. I upgraded my XP Pro to Media Center right after formatting. This is the first time I've tried Media Center.
I'm using a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS card. For some reason I'm not getting any sound out of my computer (winamp/media player/ media center/system sounds all dont work). When configuring my speakers in Media Center, I got an Audio Decoder Error and MC suggested closing and restarting. The next time I tried to configure MC, it had me adjust my dvd encoding settings and now it wont try to configure my speakers again.
The funny thing is that the Speaker Calibrator tool by Creative is the ONLY thing that can get sound out of my speakers. THAT works just fine for some reason.

Someone please shed some insight. Please.

What do you mean you "upgraded to Media Center" after installing Pro? There's no "upgrade" version of Media Center available, and you can't just download an update to turn Pro into MCE. Not legally anyway.

Did the sound work before you did the "upgrade"?

It sounds like your various bits of software are just not set to output to the proper audio device.
