Audio Codecs for Video Files...

So I'm trying to watch an episode of a TV show that, according to the file properties, has divx encoded video. However, I don't get any audio....when I load up the file in WMP, the status bar says it's sending a request for a codec but never gets one...

Same problem when using The Playa...

So, anyone have any suggestions as to what codec the audio might have been encoded with, or for that matter, where I could get the codec?

Try downloading and installing the Nimo codec pack. I couldnt tell you a website to get it from but you should be able to find it on Kazaa.

The Nimo codec pack only handles video, not audio, so it wouldn't work anyway...

Best thing to do is grab a proggy that can read the tags like VirtualDub or abcAVI Tag Editor.

If it is a fairly old clip it may be DivX Audio (WMA hack) and would be included in the Nimo pack or you could install DivX 311 then reinstall DivX 5 if you use it.

The Nimo pack contains several audio files/codecs, including ac3 audio. It fixed several files which previously had no sound for me. You could also try Sasami2k, it seems to sometimes work where other player, including the Playa fail.
