Audio cable that came with my Lite-On 16x DVD

At least I think it's an audio cable. It's not the same cable that connects to my sound card to my CD-ROM, but it looks similiar. Here's a pic:

So what is it used for and should I use it?

I have WinXP, and a SB Live! MP3 sound card.

it's an analogue audio cable.
since you're using XP then you won't really need it as you can choose "enable digital cd audio output" for the drive! 🙂

That's the same cable I use to connect my Audio-Out from the CD-Rom to the CD-in of my soundcard...
