Audigy2 firewire issue

Good morning folks! I recently bought an Audigy2 card and a Antec SX1040BII case. I want to hookup the firewire cable from the front of the case to the onboard firewire of the card, but can't. The Case's firewire connector is in separate pins, not one solid plug. :( The Audigy2 does not have any numbered/labeled pins on that firewire connecter. I downloaded the Online manual for the card and it has nothing in it about the firewire pins. I contacted support @ creative and they got back to me with "Unfortunately, I don't have the specifications to the firewire pins on this card. You might try contacting our developer support, at http://developer.creative.com"
Well... I haven't tried those guys yet, but I went to their website and it looks like it is only for developer type people (of course).
Soooo... I was wondering if anyone here had this issue and/or has found the layout of the pins on the Audigy2 card? I would really like to use that front firewire port. Thanks in advance.

I'm afraid that's the world's best known secret. When I was hooking up the usb ports, I had to compile many different schematics including generic, case specs, and mobo specs. I used the process of elimination. I also think the Audigy will require that you disable/disconnect one of the others if you succeed.

Well... Hmmmm. I guess I can do a search for generic firewire schematics or something... But if I hook the wrong pin up to the Audigy, could I possibly fry or mess up my external device ( i.e camera)?

Are you sure it's even possible to wire up the front firewire port to the audigy firewire connector?

Would you not need onboard firewire or a a certain controller card?

With regards to "mis-wiring" it can cause undesired effects, not sure if damage can be done but 1 pin did not match the description that was in the motherboard manual and I attached it anyway, caused system to not power up, so detactched quickly (USB not firewire though)

It should be possible to attach those separate cables/pins from the front of the case to the Audigy2's onboard connector. I would hope so at least, because it has the female plug slot for Firewire on it.
Now, b4 I go any further. The card is actually my friends, and he bought it Retail at C.City (just the card itself)
BTW - haven't found any info on this yet on the web! :disgust:

Here's a link to a page with all the pinouts for the Audigy cards, including the internal firewire connector:

http://dmzweb4.europe.creative.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=27,E=0000000000024081212,K=6896,Sxi=8,Case=obj(15530),VARSET=centric:280,Kb=creative_cli_en

I got this same info from Creative Tech Support when I was trying to do the same thing you are. They did say that if I messed the wiring up, my warranty on the Audigy would be void, so be careful.
