Audigy Vs. TB Santa Cruz

I just purchased TB Santa Cruz after hearing all the hype. How is Santa Cruz compared to my Audigy? I will sell one of them after I test them out. Any input will be great appreicated.

I bought an Audigy once.... Just once.... Now it sits in my desk drawer with a corrupt subsystemID. Never again... Get the Santa Cruz

I had an Audigy then I got a Santa Cruz. The Audigy lives in a cardboard box somewhere with all my 5.25" flopy drives...

I`ve had my Audigy now for 14 months,it has been rock solid in gaming and general use even with my VIA board,I`m one happy Audigy owner 😉,getting back on topic seems pointless changing your Santa Cruz for the Audigy unless you go with the Audigy 2 which`s the best gaming card and great sound quality IMHO.

🙂

www.3dsoundsurge.com is a good place to look for sound card information. Basically it has been agreed that Creative has improved sound quality with the new Audigy 2s and it is on par with the Santa Cruz. I'd stick to whatever you have now. The Audigy will be better for gaming (less CPU usage, better support with EAX, etc) but the Santa Cruz is better for music playback. Get a regular CD palyer if you want playback, it will blow away any commercial sound card.

i love my audigy more than my santa cruz for this reason: higher treble and lower bass... (my pc is connected to an EQ then to an AMP with BOSE AM5 + VELODYNE subwoofer so it's easier for me to tell the difference..... i find the santa cruz less "problematic" though.. if the audigy is setup properly (im talking about best PCI slot placement/no IRQ problem/ no effect to boot up like delay etc..) you'll find it "as stable as the santa cruz...

* this topic will boil down to -"it's just a matter of personal preference"...

I have the Audigy and it works great. I especially like the sharp and clear sounds it produces and it works very well in games too.

I did have one problem with it but I've since found out that the issue was caused by something else.

After going through hell with my SB Live! and hearing about all the problems and driver issues with the Audigy, I'm glad that I've stuck with my Santa Cruz. The drivers are solid and it gets the job done. SC for me!

Can't wait for the Santa Cruz II 😛

what about the audigy 2? I suppose nobody here cares bout 4 channel gaming then, cuz the Turtle Beach ain't as good as the Audigy is in that department.

What's not as good about it? The reason I ask is that I just jumped on the Santa Cruz bandwagon today after abandoning my Soundblaster Live! and my Nforce2 Soundstorm onboard audio. The Santa Cruz sounds better to me than either of those. A lot better. Better positioning in games. Overall crisper, clearer, warmer sound. The Soundstorm audio was flat and muddy in comparison although it is far and away the best onboard sound solution I've heard to date. What am I missing my not going with an Audigy 2?

No offense, and off-topic here, but I would not brag about that

Let me tell you about Bose workin- if I hadn't gotten it for $80 as closeout item, I would continue to stay away from their products----piece of crap to be considered as a good set of speakers... lots of missing notes/frequency.....im not a music purist /audiophile though...

In general, this is how it goes... with EAX and gaming in the picture, choose the Audigy, with gaming out of the picture and for best music quality, choose the Santa Cruz. The Sensaura build used in the Santa Cruz has some problems with certain games. Check out the 3d Sound Surge forums for more info.

Cheers
