They both have 24-bit ADVANCED HD, and advanced EAX support.
Also I think they both have a 96KHz Sample Rate (but I've seen 96K and 192K listed for the Value, not sure which is true).

Any opinions on any noticeable differences between the two cards?

I owned em both and my ears could tell no diffeence although the 2 claims a tad better specs as well as the follow ups ...
BTW Creative Lies to us about the performance :p

IIRC the Audigy 2 was just an update to the Audigy 1, it fixed minor hardware bugs of some sort.

The different Models {ie.Platinum, ZS. NX}...Even the Aud 4 has little difference as it prolly was offered to the Public to kill time while getting Fatal1ty/X-Fi on us ;)

Well I can get a refurbed Audigy1 for $28 shipped, or a refurbed Audigy2 THX for $43 shipped. Both are direct from Creative with 30 day warranty.
They even have the Audigy2 ZS (refurb of course) for $63 shipped, but I can see no real reason to get that over the regualr A2.

I'm thinking I should just get the Audigy1 since I'm not realy picky about audio. I really just want an Audigy for EAX gaming.

Thoughts?

Yea, I was tempted to get in on that deal, but I just couldn't bring myself to order anything from Buy.com. Especially anything where a rebate is involved.
Very shady comapny IMO.

I feel much more comfortable ordering directly from Creative, and I don't have to bother with any damn rebates.

I asked this question a while back when the value version came out.

The value version has plastic jacks, minus firewire port but a review site and creative support said that the DSP chip is the same as the A2. The ASIO driver specs are similar to the A2 ZS so overall its somewhere between the A2-A2ZS. The big thing plus is that the value version (and the A4) finally have bit perfect output which is good for music which all other audigy's lack.

Well, that's almost what he's asking :)

Ike0069, looks like there's agreement with what we talked about earlier on A1 vs A2

In short get the A2 value.
Not a big difference in EAX but for the same price as a A1 (Value is $45 shipped from Amazon) you get a newer DSP better software and bit perfect ouput.

Sounds good, but I can get the Audigy1 (refurb, but that doesn't bother me) for $28 shipped.

I got a turtle beach santa cruz that supports EAX/Dolby Digital, and can supply S/PDIF in all available flavors (cox/fiber), with a daughter card.

I'll let it go for $20 shipped.

*Rolls eyes* I remember all the hype over that card, it made me sick. The forums at AT were just infested with Santa Cruz fanboys... Musta been 30 threads for it one day... The card was overrated... It's just a fact :D
