Hello,

I have windows xp professional and the creative labs audigy oem. The problem I am having is I cannot get the drivers installed. I tried the drivers on the CD and it hosed my system, requiring me to reinstall the OS. The drivers on their website wont install because it requires the sound card to be installed, but obviously it isn't. 🙁

Help!!!!

Thanks

why not just physically install the hardware, then when it asks you if you want to install the drivers say cancel, and download the files off the website. couple of questions tho, what type of file is on the web site? is it .zip .exe or what? if it is .exe you may be able to just run it and have it install the drivers (like my gtxp) if it is .zip then you could unzip the drivers to a directory on your hard drive and go through the process of having windows reinstall the drivers (and point it to this directory) Hope this makes sense/works

I have an OEM Audigy and XP Pro. I just put the Audigy in, installed the drivers from the CD by pointing the "New Hardware Found" wizard at the CD drive, then installed the downloaded driver update from Creative's web site. No problems at all, and my machine is full of other junk and previously had an Aureal Vortex2 sound card installed. Guess you maybe just had bad luck?

lol bad luck! I wish I could tell that to everyone that comes in and asks why their computers aren't working!
