Audigy: How to disable mic input from outputing to speakers.

Hello, I am running an Audigy in XP pro. Whenever I use my microphone, I can hear my own voice in my speakers. It happens regardless of the program I use?it?s XP itself. I need to configure my system in such a way as when I speak into my mic my programs receive the input, yet my voice does not feed back into my speakers. That is, I do not want to hear my voice through my speakers when I speak; at the same time, I want to be able to record my voice in, say, Windows Sound Recorder (or any program).

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks!

You should have the mic muted in the playback device listings in mixer and have the mic unmuted and turned up under record device listings of mixer.
