Audigy and inspire 4.1 popping?

Whenever I turn my computer on or off I get a loud poppinig sound (very loud). During computer use it sounds excellent but I am wondering if the loud pop sound at power on/off is a normal thing or could it damage the speakers. It does not pop with my Rythmic edge and cheapo 2 speaker system. Any comments appreciated.
 
Same thing with mine. Normal as far as I can tell, because it happens on different speaker/soundcard combinations too.
 
Thanks for the reply. I do not mind it as long as it does not blow out a speaker. I really do not have the volume up that high but the pop is really loud. I guess the speakers should be able to handle it.
