I can't get my Audigy to recognize any FireWire drives. Has anybody solved a similar problem? It's on Win98SE, the Microsoft 1394 supplements has been installed. The Audigy 1394 controller is recognized by Windows and is listed in System. My other FireWire cards have no problem detecting the drive on the same system.

Not all firewire ports are created equal. For some reason they can't figure out how to standardize em, so some devices won't work with certain ports. Test it with another firewire device to see if your card is defective.

My Yamaha firewire burner and my Dazzle Hollywood DV bridge work fine with my Audigy Platinum on Me and XP Pro. I even got the burner working on my Mandrake 8.1 partition. <FWIW>

Thanks, guys. I have only one FireWire device (an external HDD). I've tested it with three different FireWire cards and all work with it fine. Just the damn Audigy doesn't even notice it.
