Finally I get an Audigy and now they come out with the Audigy 2.

Then again it occurs to me the only reason I ever needed to upgrade past a sb isa 16 was the need for a pci sound card. :/

From what it looks like it will have true 24-bit sound. I'm definetly going to look into getting one

They come out with new video cards like every six months. Why is this different? :)

For gamers like me that have 4 surgically implanted ears (for CS of course), this is vital to our fragging experience.

What's really different about the new Audigy? Their site says the first Audigy also has 24-bit sound.

From what I see, the best thing about the Audigy 2 is it'll drive down the price of the original Audigy Platinum so I can pick one up cheap.

Hmm, the next time I rob the bank I'll save some cash for one of these and a set of Logitech Z-680s. THX-rated soundcard AND speakers, 6.1 Dolby EX and 106db realized through optical out 0wNz j00!

Well one of the aspects that interested me the most, and hasn't been mentioned yet, is the claimed support for DVD-Audio discs.......that'd be one of the only reasons why I'd trade my GTXP for an Audigy 2.

Not like it will sound a lot better. Most people can't tell a difference between old and new sound card.
