I just saw this on NewEgg and didn't even know a laptop pcmcia soundcard existed. It looks pretty cool, but is it worth it? Anyone have any experience with it? I suppose if you have more than a 2.1 speaker setup you would want it.

Just for information, I have an Dell 8600.

No experience with this, but pretty much anything beats onboard laptop audio. If you're a gamer, I'm sure it'd be nice. However, being a laptop is suppose to be portable and all, I don't really like PCMCIA cards sticking out.

How would they stick out? They slide inside the laptop... the extension on the sound card just plugs into the side

not too sure about this, but i remember some people still having problem with current drivers (random pop and click), try checking notebookforums.com & anandtech notebook forum and google for review. I also remember, it's said to be pretty hot also...
