Audigy 2 ZS - simultaneous output?

Hi all.

I've got an Audigy 2 ZS hooked up digitally to the Inspire 5600 5.1 system and I want another connection from my PC to my Sony 5.1 home theatre in another room so I can play my WMAs in there. Unfortunately, the few digital media receivers available in New Zealand are expensive and the USB FM transmitter I tried was poxy so I reckon I need to output from my s/card.

I'm not sure yet if I want to go hardwired or wireless but either option would require RCA plugs on both ends running from the analogue output of the s/card (unless anyone knows how I can go from the digital output over a 10m cable to 2 RCAs on the h/theatre). Will it work if I'm running the Inspire 5.1 in my computer room from the digital output whilst outputting to the h/theatre from the analogue sockets? The product documentation makes it sound like I can but it doesn't really talk about dual-connectivity.

Thanks for any assistance.

I don't have an Audigy, but my Chaintech AV-710 does digital and analog output at the same time.

I don't think there's any easy way to output digital and then change it to analog before it gets to the receiver.

If you want to make sure they output at the same time, plug in a set of headphones into the analog jacks while the card is outputting in digital mode too.

Your best bet is probably just using a 1/8" to dual RCA adapter and running RCA to the receiver and then running in prologic mode on the receiver.

Digital output is always on. Analog is on unless Digital Output Only is enabled. Which is especially handy for what you want to do :)
