Yeah, this has really caught my eye, since I'll be picking up a notebook shortly and would love to have the cababilities of the Audigy on my notebook.

cool, I guess I will have to choose between this and the echo indigo card I have been considering foreever. The line in makes this useful.

I wonder how the SQ compares to the USB 2.0 based NS. I have the NS and use it on my Inspiron XPS when on the road and it works well. It does require 5VDC and I made a power cord that extracts this "phantom power" (as us sound guys call it) so it is truly portable.

If the PCMCIA solution is as clean, it may be the ticket to better mobility.

The NS is the cleanest sounding product that CL makes currently.

Cheers!

The specs on the A2ZSNotebook give it a better SnR and more features than the NX, so I would be surprised if it wasn't at least on par with the NX. If it is, then Creative really has a chance to lock up the add-in laptop sound market, especially the gaming segment.

PS MSRP is $129.99

aww man and I was almost gonna jump on the audigy 2 nx. This sounds like a really cool solution. Anybody have any theories on which one will have less cpu usage? also, looking at the picture of the pcmcia card, how would on connect a 4.1 solution to it? all I see is a headphone out/ mic in and something that looks like a usb port.

I'm guessing the PCMCIA card will have lower CPU usage, due to the fact that it won't need to use the USB bus, which isn't terribly CPU friendly. As for additional speaker sets, I'm guessing that the USB-like port connects to some sort of breakout device.

I have the NX also, and it's working great. I think this PCMCIA version might be more CPU friendly, especially when it has EAX 4.0 hardware acceleration! Isn't 32bit PCMCIA the same as PCI bus? So maybe this IS the ultimate mobile audio solution.

However, it doesn't look like it has NX's remote, which is the same as the ZS platinum... I actually kinda love the remote :(
