Audigy 2 Value doesn't like my motherboard

I seem to be having trouble with my soundcard, as it seems it likes to crash as soon as I enter any game with it in. Took the card out, and I can play any game fine.

I usually experience a freezing, followed by the screen turning blank and sharp noises coming from each speaker.

Any ideas or should I just grab a new soundcard (this onboard stuff is crap).

BTW, I have Logitech Z-5300 speakers, if that makes a difference..

Thanks in advance.

Almost sounds like my issue... maybe I should try taking my audigy 2 out.. Its not the value version though, just the original audigy 2.

Rebuilt your computer and put your sound card drivers first. Then reinstall everything else. It should be fine from then on.

I think Audigy 2 Value = the rebranded original Audigy 2.

Anyway, as soon as I get a chance, I'll rebuild, reformat, etc. Videocard, soundcard, mobo only things that need drivers anyway. Or I might just grab a soundcard out of another computer (probably an Audigy 1 card though) and use that.

Take out your Audigy 2, install the integrated drivers.

Then put the Audigy 2 back in (in a different slot as before), and reinstall the drivers.

I 'THINK' that I fixed the problem that way, however, I'm not so sure yet. Still, beats the Audigy LS I scrounched up (which is the same thing as an SB Live 24-bit), or integrated.
