Audigy 2 for $69.99 AR @Fry's Bay Area

I believe the platinum (non-EX) only has the internal live drive as opposed to the EX which is the physical sound card/input jacks being external.
 
It seem to me that both the Audigy 2 with and without EX have an internal Audigy 2 sound card and an external box. I think the box is where it is different. Am I right?

Yeah, too bad I have already played through SOF2.. andI dont like the multiplayer a whole lot. And hitman 2 doesnthold much interest for me.


Oh.. also too bad this is at frys and frys sux because only a very small number of people can get this deal
 
In another thread the "rebate" was discussed and someone mentioned it was questionable. Anybody else hear that? I want to get one of these, but I think I might wait.
 
The Audigy 2 Platinum Ex is physically a different card from the other Audigy 2's. It has a special connector for the external drive, it also supports ASIO 2 drivers, so you can record more channels. The connectors for the internal Live Drive are different on the Audigy 2's and the Audigy 1 so you can't use your old drive Live Drive with the new cards.
