I like the A7, just not the "squished" look the headlights and tail lights give it. Everything else looks great.

The E-Tron, not so much.

I love the Audi style, but they really need to improve their reliability.

I think the A7 is a real winner, and it's priced well, too. The only think I didn't like was the dash...it looks empty. I think replacing the pop-out navigation with a standard one that's always visible would be more attractive. It may not look as "futuristic", but I think it would look better.

The E-tron...I think sucks. It looks like an uglied up R8. It performs worse than the R8 V8, and I think it will get murdered by the R8 V10, which is in the same price range. And there's always the hassle of dealing with "what ifs." "What if I only have enough juice for 20 miles of driving, and my home is 25 miles away?"

The e-tron reminds me of what the 1950s people would think of when it came to a luxury electric car with today's technology infused. It's got a lot of similar aspects, IMO.

The A7 looks ugly outside to me... But the interior looks awesome. So much view and glass. :) Good way to get a tan of some sort. :p

Now THAT is what the A8 should look like. Really once Audi does *something* with their uber-boring blobs they call the 6 and 8 series, they will have a pretty hot lineup. The *4 is nice looking, the *5 is VERY nice, the TT and *3 are pretty good. I am not an SUV fan so I can't comment on their SUVs though.

I wonder what 3900 ftlb of torque feels like as it punches you in the chest.

Similar to any normal sedan. Those were the torque numbers at the wheels without correcting for the torque multiplication effect of the gearing. A Malibu puts out 3100+ when it's counted that way. :p

Their turbo diesel R8 concept was killer too... did they actually go through with that? I remember the performance was less than expected because of the added weight of the giant diesel motor, but I also believe they had the thing torque/hp limited to save the drivetrain.

IIRC the E-tron has the electric motors at the wheels, and therefore there is no gearing, and so the 3000 ft-lb figure is technically correct.

Yep.

My SiL loves the way Audi looks and got one over me telling her not to.

It is sitting in my driveway right now waiting to be fixed, again. :awe:

the A7 is sweet. why does everyone think that the "sportback" design is controversial for the US? we've had a ton of those. they were called fastbacks and have been around since the 60's.

i think caddy could really use some influence from audi. forget all of these angles and creases. just go with an elegant, timeless design.
