i don't recognize the "championship" where both teams were 1-1 in their previous 2 going into the game, either :D

Sad that Oregon handed them the game.

I wonder how long until the title is stripped.
We know the NCAA couldn't let the Pac-10 win but with the threat of lawmaker intervention and USCs appeal/potential law suite, the NCAA will probably be forced to act on Cam Newton who was clearly ineligible to play.

Handed them the game? Newton missed a wide open WR for TD, gave up a few turnovers, didn't score on 1st & goal... 520 yards for Auburn, 455 yards for Oregon, 32:53 TOP for Auburn, 27:07 for Oregon. I don't know what game you were watching, but Auburn dominated that game and Oregon couldn't run the ball (Nick Fairley is a man amongst boys).

oregons offensive playcalling was just awful all game. how many times did they try to run james up the gut on a delay? that lost them the game.

fairley probably should have been ejected for all the bs rough shit after the plays, they got him twice, and you know they missed about 30 of them.

newton looked vulnerable and weak I thought. He will get raped in the NFL if tiny lil oregon can beat him up. if he ties to do the qb shit he does now.

I see a nice futre as a big WR though

He's a Tim Tebow with better passing mechanics. I don't think Newton can be that great in the NFL unless he turns into a Josh Freeman type.

they ran james up the gut because it worked so well all season... until they faced a real defense (SEC team)
auburn manhandled them up front, simple as that. It was not the playcalling

Players were constantly slipping. On my tv I could see the field was littered with divots, too.
The network commentators said the field was specially prepared for the game; the turf was supposedly replaced since the January 1 Fiesta Bowl game.

Yay SEC and yay Auburn for thugs aka Nick "stomp your head/groin and not get ejected" Farley
and
criminals aka Cam "My dad does alot of things for me behind the scenes but I'll just flash my smile and play dumb" Newton

For what it's worth Oregon killed themselves with retarded play calling. Lets run up on the middle of 4th and goal instead of running for the edge...Chip Kelly should have thrown more, especially into the second level.

Cam Newton while large of body won't be able to play like that in the NFL, he will end up injured or washed out. I can just imagine Ray Lewis licking his chops if Newton tried that QB draw up the middle in the NFL.

Brent Musberger has turned awful lately.

And Cam great to see that education is paying off for you:

"I don't want nobody to feel sorry for me, because throughout this year didn't nobody feel sorry for Auburn," said Newton after the game.

I dont care if it worked 'all year' it didnt work more than twice in the 20 times they ran it.

A good coach/oc sees that and changes the gameplan!

nope.....:)

thanks!

pretty m uch everything you said, but that extra much. Hes about as sad now as dick clark. he repeated what kirk said about 300 times during the game and is getting harder to understand.

its time to replace him

Why was he ineligible, is there evidence he did anything wrong?

Pay-for-Play allegations. Thoroughly investigated by the NCAA during the regular season. Mr. Newton was cleared to play prior to the SEC championship game. There is no reason to expect the NCAA to reopen the investigation, especially as they found no evidence of involvement by Auburn or any Auburn boosters.

Not sure why Oregon didn't give LaMichael James the ball more in the game, especially at the goal line when they went for it on 4th down and didn't score. They made too many mistakes and were out sized. How many players for Oregon were bigger than Cam? Like 3?

I think the game was even and Auburn winning on a last second field goal is not "dominating" in any sense of the word. Overall not as high scoring as everybody expected it to be, but it was still a great game - one of the better NC games that I've seen.

That was *was* James getting stuffed on 4th down at the goal line. IMHO biggest play of the game.
