ATX Backplanes/brackets for Gigabyte MA-770-DS3/MA790X-DS4?

Does anyone know if you can find these anywhere? I have 2nd hand GA-MA770-DS3 and GA-MA790X-DS4, but neither of them came with the ATX backplane to fit it in the back of the
chassi.

Another thing, the MA-790X seems to have some setting, I don't know if it is in BIOS or not atm, haven't got it here, but there are like 256MB "reserved" memory according to Win XP, like it had intgrated graphics or something, it only shows 2.7-something GB RAM. The mobo is equiped with a Radeon HD 3870X2 gfx card. Any ideas?
 
You can call Gigabyte and request the back plates. They might charge you or might not. (depends on who you talk to, and/or how you talk 🙂 ) If that doesn't work, probably eBay is the second easiest way.

What does the exact title of that setting in BIOS? Is it something like "Max Payload Size"? If so, see if it lets you change the value to '4096'. It is not clear what setting you're referring to, though. In any case, it is not unusual to see 2.75 GB of system RAM with those dual-GPU cards. (of course in 32-bit Windows)
 
your 3870x2 has like 1gb of ram on it. the addresses have to be mapped into the 32-bit memory space somewhere. so basically 256mb is taken up by other i/o devices.

and 1gb is mapped to the 3870x2's video memory's addressable space.

i think the ram actaully doesnt get used, just it cannot be addressed since those addresses are in use. so basically if say you had i dont know a serial port, it takes a memory address to write data to it or read from it. so that address is gone.

since 32-bits only can address up to 4 billion 32 bit addresses, you are stuck with 2.75 billion of them after you use up some addresses for i/o devices and video cards etc. if you go to 64-bit there are more addresses available so its never an issue yet. since you have 4 bilion x 4 billion addresses there.

These are probably your best bets. Also, the most common term for this part is I/O shield.
