That cop is lucky the patient didn't die.

Yep, and the ambulance driver is lucky he didn't cause an accident by cutting the officer off like he did... or if there would have been a life threating emergency the officer was going to...

IMO people just need to think instead of letting their knee go off. Yes, there are bad cops but seriously - do you really need to get all worked up all the time?

Hey CADsortaGUY you still president of the Fraternal Order of Cops???

 Eh?

You didn't watch the dashcam video at all, did you? The ambulance driver didn't cut off the officer, and its debatable as to whether he could have pulled over onto the shoulder any sooner than he did. I don't think he blocked the cop's way for more than 10 seconds total, if that much. I can't re-watch the video right now, but that's what I recall.

Sorry - not "cut off" - rather didn't get the F out of the way. Is "blocked his way" better for you...

Anyway - changing the wording doesn't change my post. Too many knees went atwitchin'. Par for the course here on AT.

Shoulda tasered the driver and the emt 'cause they where asking for it

And the Ambulance driver could have caused the cop to be late to an emergency call where someone may have died. Sure, neither happened and the cop was a moron but IMO people are over reacting to these types of things, especially when they don't think past OMG MORON COP...

CADsortaGUY, the only think youre doing is looking like an idiot and discerning how the cop screwed up two emergencies in one go. Good for him! The ambulance has the right of way. Fuck the cop, the immediate emergency > cop ego/your douchery

This kind of crap happens all the time. Today's technology allows the recording of these sort of actions.

Are you kidding me?

1) cop passed the ambulance (video looks like the cop was doing way over 100); while the ambulance was passing someone else
2) cop showed up at the emergency
3) cop decided it was not an emergency and leaves
4) cop pulls over ambulance
5) cop ignores the pleas of the EMT to get the person to the hospital.

From another forum:

Oklahoma Statutes Citationized Title 21. Crimes and Punishments Chapter 20 - Assault and Battery Section 650.3 - Interference with Emergency Medical Technicians or Care Providers - Punishment Every person who willfully delays, obstructs or in any way interferes with an emergency medical technician or other emergency medical care provider in the performance of or attempt to perform emergency medical care and treatment or in going to or returning from the scene of a medical emergency, upon conviction, is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding six (6) months, or by a fine not to exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), or by both such fine and imprisonment.

Yea it is a tough call who should yield (when the cop passed the ambulance the first time), but when the cop pulled over the ambulance and if the above is true the cop is in voilation of the above OK law.

Wow, I watched the video and can't see how the cop, or anyone, can attempt to justify his actions. My interpretation is the cop basically just pulled the EMTs over to harrass them because he's got a ego bigger then his melon head.

Oh look, another knee twitcher and an ASSumer to boot! Nowhere have I defended the cop's actions. However, it seems that some of you refuse to think past OMG THE MORON COP. Why can't some of you actually think for once?

Do you even have a point in this thread? I mean other than, "move along, nothing to see here." WTF?

There is no way in this world that the cop acted in an even remotely rational manner. Someone that unstable should not be in possession of a weapon or any authority more than a mall security guard.

But of course no one's ever accused this forum of having an overabundance of reasonable people in it.

Yeah after watching this and seeing the comments by cad and js80, i'm sorry but you're both morons. Also a hint of racism by Js80, but that's expected.

Yea I watched the dashcam video as well, and after seeing it I don't see how people can defend the cop's actions. The cop's handling of the situation was terrible

The cop should loose his badge for this - I don't think I've ever seen anything so unprofessional in my life.

Granted, the ambulance could have gone to the right a little but it's a cop that's passing. Does it really matter?

And seriously, this doesn't have anything to with "cop hating" nor have I ever seen a single regular for past five years this forum "hate" on cops, period.

Because of my update above? Why start a new thread when we already have one on the subject?

I saw this great movie called Devil's Advocate yesterday. Pacino was great.
