I know one of the first things I try to do is assimilate the styles, nomenclature, etc. of a given development group, because I've worked for many groups that have defined standards you have to conform to. Make no mistake, there are even packages as part of some SCCS' (Continuus comes to mind) that will format based on a predefined template (ack!). Quitting a job because of programming style? That's childish, and isn't the mark of a professional.
That mentality is what causes all the maintenance nightmares to begin with... leave the dogma behind.
