This is just anther BS tax just like the library tax and now the allegheny county assessment that jacked everyone's property value to get more taxes out of people in Pittsburgh. I'm tired of all the taxes.

Where's someplace fun to go for a 29 y.o. in Philadelphia around the middle of Sep?

Depends, what do they like to do?

I just turned 30 and have had a great time visiting all the historical stuff. But I'm a bit of a history nut. Something interesting to see would be the Mutter Museum. A lot of preserved dead body parts and medical instruments.

Much depends on what they may be interested in.

Being stuck out here for the past year; I have reviewed some of the history.

About 30 minutes outside Philly is Doylestown.
There is a castle there that is interesting and also a museum of early-mid america lifestyle.
Easy to spend a day there.

Valley Forge is nearby.
Lancaster County for early american living - live.
Museums in the city proper and outside
Riverboat dining.

Plenty of little quaint town dot the area; some along the Delaware river north of the city.

Atlantic City and the shore areas are only an hour haul. Beach walking is still feasible.

Just an FYI: This tax was already owed to the Commonwealth. Beginning in 2011, you can report and pay this use tax on the PA-40 instead of the PA-1, as was required in the past.

what idiot would actually put any down on that line?

everyone lafed at ny's internet tax line years ago.
i think they collected $25,000 total.
(u know how many techies live in NYC alone?)

"Amazon Tax" goes into effect for us on September 1. Any high-priced items you have "Saved for Later" should be purchased before then. That is all and Jeff Bezos can blow me.

Parx or Sugarhouse for gambling, Dave & Busters for food/arcade.

Good lord, don't do this.

pretty much anywhere in old city you will have a good time.

This. There are a ton of awesome gastro pubs serving local microbrews all over the old city and center city.

Rittenhouse Square is ground zero for hipster coffee houses.

http://www.philamuseum.org/ <-- This is one of the best art museums in the country, and it's not mobbed like the Met or MOMA in New York. The museum is also right next to Fairmount Park, which is like Central Park, only way way bigger. It sits next to the Schuylkill River, you can walk up the river and watch the Drexel crew teams practicing (or racing) their boats.

If she happens to be there during the week she can watch the Liberty Sailing Club race their J/27s on the Delaware river. They race on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to sunset. I don't know the best place to watch from (I'm on one of the boats), but Dave and Busters might be a good bet for that.

All of these things. As a Philly/Bucks County native, I'll say this man knows what's up.

For PA taxes, if you bought clothing in a store, it's exempt from sales tax. I noticed now when I buy clothing online, it's taxed. Is that the way it should be? Or is Amazon just not bothering to make the distinction between taxable/non-taxable items by state?
