The last few years I've used a pair of 5 foot tables. They were sold as desks but I bought them without hutches. They worked pretty well at my old house but not as well in my current house because of the room's shape. Buying new furniture presents many of the same problems because I'd like to have a good fit for the current nook rather than have 2 feet of wasted space like I have now.

Anybody have a home-made desk setup that they're proud of? Let's see some pics. I'm especially interested to see how you designed the legs/supports. The nook I want to set up in is about 87 inches wide so I'll probably need some sort of non-obtrusive support near the center.

Consider an 'L' shaped desk for easier mouse use. These "work stations" are optimized for mousing. I've GOT to have my elbow supported or I ain't happy!

ever have a family deathmatch? well from the looks of them, you would need to upgrade computers first ;) or play doom 1 :D

maybe a minesweeper tourney...

Those PCs were at least a year old when we did the den in 2002. I've since switched to consoles for gaming duty. My "12 Year Old" is now 14, and has a fairly decent box.
