they had a problem with their DB stuff and the plesk server today-- as many peole noticed my forums were down.

anyways-- for those others of you experiencing the same problems (i know aphex has some forums running, ffm, and maul also?)

anyways- just go to the plesk control panel, change the password for the database user, or create a new user and password, and then update your config.php file with the new name and password--

should work correctly after that. i assume this works for any aspect of needing the Database too.

If you find you cannot connect to your database, reset the password for it in Plesk to what it originally was. We had to emergency upgrade Plesk/Apache due to the OpenSSL vulnerability outlined at http://www.cert.org/advisories/CA-2002-27.html and in the process some of the MySQL passwords were not imported back into MySQL properly by the Plesk upgrade patches.
