Hello everyone,

I have a Linksys BEFSR41v2 that just went out. I am looking to get a Wireless router on 802.11B. Any suggestions which brands and why?? Also, any good places to get that "router" for a good price? Thanks for your time everyone!!

I am using a NetGear MR814, and it performs very well at this price point. I have never had to power cycle, and every card I have used worked well. I got mine at Fry's for 39.99 AR.

Edit- mine is the v2 as well.

I have a D-Link 624, basically same as 614 but has 4 Ethernet Ports on board as well. Worked out of the box like a Champ. Have both D-Link clients and Linksys clients on it.

I have the Netgear MR812v2 (same thing, slightly newer). Works great other than a slight incompatibilty with Intel Centrino wireless 802.11b cards. Recent drivers and Netgear's newest beta firmware seem to have fixed it -- something with the power management not working right.

I've had nothing but trouble with two installations of the Linksys BEFWSXXX (the 4-port 802.11b wireless router model). I haven't been able to get reliable wireless from it for more than 5-10 minutes at a time yet (although the wired part works great). Maybe a new firmware would help...
