ATTN all pichosting users...update: server down for maintenance (3:30PST-5:00PST)

I will be moving to a new server for pichosting soon. My apologies for any downtime that results; I'm switching from a 750mhz P3 to a Dual AMD XP1800, with a much faster HD and a few gigs of RAM. The speed difference should be notable when uploading large amounts of files, doing resizes, etc. This upgrade will start happening in the next day, and I will have everything moved by the end of the week. The entire move should be seamless for everyone, but just in case, I thought I would post this. 😀

Thanks again for using my site. 😀

Bump. It looks like the switch will be pretty fast; we're going to image the server it's on right now, so it should only be down as long as the imaging takes -- probably an hour or two. The downtime will either be tomorrow or Wednesday.

Just FYI. 😀

You know, I was curious...about all these pic-hosting sites, what type of app are you running? Is it something I could find and run myself on my new site? I think it'd be nice to be able to have a small pic-hosting site, and not just a random pic on the forum page or something...

I do my own webhosting; I need to run the software for other purposes, so I use ATOT as my beta-testing ground. 😀

A few gigs of ram? As in more than a couple?
No, only two or three. No more than that. 😀

Rob

Well a couple would be 2, so a few would be 3. Some would be 4, and many 5+? 😛
Ok, ok. It'll either be a couple or a few. How's that? Not some, and definitely not many. 😀

Sounds fair. Although, I am personally getting hooked on many gigs of ram. 16gB is almost enough. 😀

Too bad I can't take that machine home 🙁

Server is down now. Should be back up by 5pm PST.

Edit: When back up, will be a Dual XP1800 + 1gb RAM. Couldn't get my hands on a couple or a few. 😉
