I hate to be a pest---ok, no I don't ;)

I would like to know all of you who were previous 865/875 motherboard owners who now switched over to a 915/925 based motherboards:

Did you notice a significant performance increase over what you previously had?

Did you notice a significant performance decrease over what you previously had?

Why did you change over?

Was it worth the money?

Look at my sig, would I benefit from switching over? I do video encoding/re-encoding, games and normal day-to-day stuff (email, web surf, etc...) Should I just wait for motherboards that will support dual core? Do either of the above mentioned motherboards support dual core?

I am no "rich boy" either. I saved my last year's pitiful tax return to purchase my system in stages. I have almost nothing left to spend so I figure I will have to sell most of this to upgrade to something newer--- IF upgrading is worth it.

Your opinions/advice are appreciated.

Thank you.

Thanks for your response, Cownipples. I wondering what your current system is now that makes you miss your 875 system?

I'm sorry, I know this is completely off-topic (I'm an AMD guy), but...

... why in the world do you have so much hard drive space? I mean really... 1.5+ terabytes?!

PCI-E currently has no advantages over AGP except the ability to use 2 cards in SLI.

And DDR2 currently has no advantages over DDR1 due to increased latency, from what I have been reading?

Don't even bother, I doubt if it even is an upgrade to change what you have for a 915/925 system. I'd say it's a downgrade... Enjoy what you have.

Are you saying that the Asis A8N-SLI setup you have now is NOT STABLE?
