ATTENTION RUSH FANS

I was in the middle of adding the text to the other post and it was locked. That was quick!

Anyway, tune in to channel 103 if you have Directv for a Rush concert from '89. I assume this is running through the end of the month. I was watching it just now and its very good.

CAUTION: There is also a Sinead O'Connor concert being aired on the same channel so don't be shocked if you tune in and see her instead of Rush.

UPDATE: Its only on weekends.

Heh, I don't think Mucman gets Directv, so he's missing out. 🙂

I'll just have to watch it and let him know how good it is. 🙂

i saw Rush in '76 or '77,Live, they must have partied to hard the night before because the opening act was a Lot better.
"Head East" i think

And we know where "Head East" is today... 🙂

Rush w/ an opening act? They haven't had that in a while IIRC.

BTW, are you Canucks finally able to get DTV w/o having to clone cards and such?

Damnit, I have cable 🙁 🙁 :frown:

cavemanmoron, they MUST have partied too much the night before because Rush is (IMO) the best live act ever.

And I swear... the next person who confuses Rush, the World's Greatest Rock Band®, with that fat freak Limberger is gonna get the flaming of a lifetime :|

He's a freak, but I don't believe he's fat anymore...

Primus opened for them on the Counter Parts tour. Test for Echo and Vapor Trails have been opening act free AFAIK.

Primus opened some parts, Candlebox opened others, and Dream Theater (drool) opened others. I could have gotten DT, but got stuck with Candlesux.

DT would be an awesome opening act. As it is, Vapor Trails tour was awesome since they did about 2.5-3 hours of music with about a 20 minute intermission. VERY cool.

Saw it last night... Good stuff, but too much material from Signals and later albums.

It is the A Show of Hands tour...what did you expect?
I didn't expect any different. I just prefer their earlier works.

I got to see DT in London a couple of years ago. The show was disappointingly dry. It felt more like a technical demonstration than a concert. I'd pay to see them again (maybe they had a bad night), but I've talked to other people who've seen them live and they felt the same way. Great playing but little to no vide or energy getting out to the crowd.

I remember seeing Primus open up for Rush during the counterparts tour. I had 7th row center and it was awesome. I paid twice the regular price for the ticket but it was worth it. To watch those guys play is a wonderful thing. 😀

When did DT open for Rush?????!!!!!

Show of Hands is my favorite live Rush video... Watching them play the stuff from "Signals" to "Hold Your Fire" never ceases to amaze me. Especially songs
like "Turn the Page", "Marathon", and "Manhattan Project".
