Any advice of a car seat for a baby almost 20 lbs and six months old?
This is what my wife wants
Carseat
I've been reading on it and it has received favorable reviews but I just don't know if it really is that great so I thought I would ask the other parents out here.

Thanks for your help as always:)

You really should not worry too much about it, just get one that is declared safe by a trustworthy(!) source and drive carefully.

No speeding with children in the car, no speeding when someone else have children in their cars. There are tracks for you if you like to race.

Personaly we have this one: Stroller + Carseat

There is better strollers for taking walks but it is OK. It really shines if you travel a bit!
It is FAA approved so we drive to the Airport... park.... roll her arround in the Airport... use it as a child seat in the plane and when we get to where ever we where going we have a carseat again!

I agree with one more suggestion................All kids in the back seat, including the infant. The back seat is the best defense.

Looks good to me. I have a similar design (Fisher Price Safe Embrace model) and we are very happy with it. That particular design is one of the safest available... of course, I just found out one of the models was recalled so I have to go out to the momobile to make sure mine isn't one of them...

That's your #1 rule with all this kind of stuff... pay attention to recalls! Even the best stuff gets funky some times.

Just remember to safely install the damn thing. I could not believe how many people would buy a car seat from my stores and not ask for the proper installation instructions.

Actually, if you have any idea regarding physics, you should know that the total break point is always in the middle of any object, a car is often hard from the tront but weak in the middle. So if you hit front to front, backseat is great, but 85% of all accidents are middle way breakdowns, that is being hit from the side or from the side front or back.

Just make sure that the airbag is removed from the front passenger seat before you install the seat.

Follow the provided link to a $17 dollar belt tightner. I have 2, and it allows you to tighten the seatbelt better than you or I would ever be able to without it. The mighty tite is very well made, and will allow you to propely install and tighten in a car seat in under a minute and a half.

i have 3 kids. oldest is 4.5, youngest turns 1 next week.

we've got 2 car seats and a booster seat in my minivan.

most important thing in car seat for 6 month old is they must be able to sleep in it. something that reclines a bit. the one you got linked seems a bit expensive to me. most car seats meet certain standards, any car seat is better than none, and best thing is to drive carefully.

all my kids car seats are costco brand, cheap but seem to get the job done.

Definitely. The front seat for kids is just bad news...
