I think OK made a very important point and that has to do with the fact that there are probably alot of machines hardcoded to point to his IP rather than the host/domain name. That's going to be a bit of a mess to resolve. 🙁 I expect eventually the people who have machines hardcoded like that will notice a drop in production and should hopefully take some action to redirect those wayward machines. In the meantime, they'll keep hitting that IP once an hour, which could almost be like a DDoS. 🙁 I expect that port can be blocked though, but still, it's a nuisance...

OK,

Do you remember how many Queues you had? Or do you have a way of checking that now?

We would be able to determine the number that have fallen in the crack, even if only for curiousity's sake, by subtracting the # of Queues in the TS-5001 Q from the number that OK's Q had before the transfer. :Q

~1200 w/u's uploaded yesterday, 360 today. DNS is probably still propagating or at least was when the day started. Give it another day or two and we'll see who's still sending them. I don't remember anyone directly advertising the IP in the past so hopefully we'll get a near 100% success rate although the ultimate goal should still be of course to spread 'em out.

SoulAssasin - OK had posted his IP a couple times in the past when the DNS wasn't resolving the name. I know I have it but haven't used it in a long time. Hopefully people can get to those remote boxen and get them switched.

Thank very much, Orange Kid.🙂

Goodluck and best wishes.

Aloha,
IsOs

To whomever has control of the machine that's sending SETI workunit under my SETI ID to orangekid.teamanandtech.com:5001, please put your own SETI ID and point it to another Q. Thank you very much for donating workunits🙂

Well it appears that my cousin's PC is still pointing to OK's queue and I went to smokeballs site and I do not see it listed. So that PC may be dead in the water. It is using setihide and it is hidden. I have tried to walk them through changing it but they have NO CLUE how to use a PC and only really use it for e-mail. So my question, is there someway that I could write some kind of script that would change it for them? If so would someone like to help me with that? Thanks.

Cool, so I do not need to sorry about changing their info. Boy I can see that they need to leave their PC on all day. They insist on turning it off and on all day as needed. I try to tell them to leave it running, but they don't. It's a 1.3 AMD man, they can get a few more WU's a day out of it. 😉

Thanks Smokeball!

Check the "jSetiDoor Queue" being operated by Mucman which I've linked in the next to last message.

You have an account setup there, zodder, but I don't see any WUs showing up?

Can you get to all of your machines?

If you can, what are the Proxy settings?

If any machine is pointed to the old OK Q, it should be forwarded automatically to Mucman's Q.
