Attention Minneapolis members!

The other day I had lunch at Pizza Luce in downtown Mpls, and the water tasted vile, like it was pulled straight from a stagnant swamp. All of us noticed and commented on it, and it was so nasty that even tap soda tasted bad.

The next day, we ate at Pho 79 at 26th and Nicollet, and again the water was gross. This place is miles from downtown.

Last night I had dinner at Manny's Steakhouse downtown (my partner was buying, which was nice since dinner was $400 for three of us!). Again, the water was awful.

Today I drank out of the water fountain at work and, guess what, it tasted like a staph infection in water form. Tonight I had a couple of sips of tap water at home (normally I drink Brita-filtered water, which is fine) and nearly puked. I live in Northeast Mpls, again miles from downtown.

Does anyone know what is causing this?

My friend and I noticed this as well during our lunch in Block E the other day. It tasted terrible! I live downtown but havent noticed the same taste in my apartment complex.

There's been issues with taste and smell lately, but the water is more than safe to drink. In fact, Minneapolis has a state-of-the-art water treatment system. Normally similar symptoms occur in the spring when stagnant winter water begins flowing. However, as someone mentioned, the suspected case right now is algae blooms.

<Does not regularly drink water from the Minneapolis system, although I am in the area.

Oops! Our bad. The new guy hit the bypass valve at the water treatment plant. He was supposed to turn on the fluoride valve. Our new LSD lines should be installed by the end of the month.

Thanks.
