New build posted. Some minor price shuffling this week results in the total (coincidentally) being exactly the same as last week. The Seasonic M12II 620W is a really nice deal this week at $50 though.

New build posted. First time in a long time without a good CPU+mobo combo, but its more than made up for by the really nice SSD price.

New build posted. Unfortunately most of the good deals are still on break this week. The nice price on the ASRock Z97 Killer is probably the one bright spot.

New build posted. There's not too many changes from last week except that it has a nicer motherboard and a decreased price on the PSU.

Two "gripes": you've got a little typo there (4690L instead of K), and the fact that you're going with a CPU + mobo + RAM kit means that the optional 2x8GB kit needs to be paired with a separate CPU and mobo. Other than that, keep it up 😀

Thanks for pointing out the typo. That 3-way combo was the only combo with the i5 4690K on Newegg that was worthwhile, so I would suggest picking them up separately if you go for the 16GB option.

Is that SSD sufficient for gaming, or is it worth stepping up to something else?

It's sufficient. Pretty much any SSD is fine for gaming, and to be honest, many games are fine even when loaded from a regular HDD. All you really need is a reliable drive with good cost/gigabyte.

 The difference between SSDs is miniscule compared to the difference between any SSD and any HDD. Unless you're running very specific highly-demanding loads (of which gaming is not one), any SSD with a stable controller and good cost per gig is sufficient.

New build posted. Newegg seems to have given up on decent CPU/mobo combos for now, but the ASRock Z97 Killer is a good enough price to make up for it. There's also a pretty nice deal on the Antec TP-650C going on.

Maybe it was out of stock momentarily and sourced the price from a marketplace seller ? :sneaky:

Sometimes Newegg doesn't show their price in the top right even if it's in stock and the lowest (probably some promotional deals with marketplace sellers). In those cases, you have to look down at the More Buying Options box to see their price.

New build posted. There's a good deal running on the R9 290X, so I've switched to that this week. The PSU deal is also quite nice.

Nice! I'm still waiting to hear back from NewEgg on returning my 2x970s for a full refund since they're unopened and in wake of the Nvidia 3.5GB calamity. Seems like I could crossfire 2x290x and have money leftover. AMD trying to steal the customers...

New build posted. Got another good CPU+mobo combo this week. GTX 970 prices are also falling, which is perhaps the best result of the who "3.5GB" situation.

New build posted. The nice CPU+mobo combo remains, and there's also a very good deal on G.Skill RAM right now. I've also switched the GPU to the R9 290X because of a good deal on the Gigabyte card.

New build posted. Newegg doesn't have any good CPU+mobo combos this week, so it's back to individual components. R9 290X prices also went back up, so we have the GTX 970 instead.

New build posted. There are some very nice CPU+mobo, RAM, GPU, and PSU deals this week bringing the overall price lower than it has been in a while.
