any of you ran your comp without the small fan on the north/south bridge (not sure which one, only one of them has a fan)? my fan crapped out on me today and i dont have a replacement. i will try to call epox or email them and see if they can send me a replacement. otherwise i will try to put an old 60mm fan on there. im not sure if it will fit because i havent looked yet. if anyone has done this on purpse or by accident, please post your results and conclusions, or if you know it will work or not. thanks...

it will run without the fan.........that north bridge does get hot especialy, when you o/c.....you should be ok till you get a replacement , just dont get it to hot.....no o/cing...do you have good case air flow.?

no overclocking at the moment. a friend told me it would be fine as long as i dont overclock. it already has a heatsink which will help some. i might try the quiet 60mm i have first and see if that works. thanks for the reply.

its the northbridge that has the fan

some kt266a boards dont even come with a fan, they just have a heatsink. so it should be alright.

but as was said above... dont overclock the fsb without it, and if your system becomes unstable then its a good sign the northbridge is getting to hot
