Attention Canon Printer Owners

Where do you get quality cheap cartridges for your canon? I don't want to use something that will ruin it - looking for quality (but cheap) replacements. . . .

I print a ton - the standard canon cartridges would eat me up. I know about places that sale them as cheap as 4 dollars for a black cartridge. Looking for a cheap one that has been proven to be a quality choice.

can't say offhand . . . .
however,

i DID see them in Hot Deals forum recently - (really cheap, like just a few bucks)

. . . did you "search" there?

$0.89 to $1.29 each for Canon compatable black & color ink at www.megatoners.com.
I can recommend their Epson ink, which I've used.

Wow. I ordered 10 of them. I wonder if they refill to the stock cartridge level which supposedly yields around 500 sheets black and white at normal coverage?

If so I've got 10 reams of b&w printing for around 12 dollars.

HERE

Try their USA brand.

These are better than megatoners carts but more $. Megatoners is goo though. I used to recommend monsterinkjets.com by some people told me they changed hands and are struggling a bit.

If you do a LOT of printing then refill...let me know if you need help and the best ink.

I highly recommend the refill kits from InkJetGoodies. I used those cheap $2-$4 ink cartridges from other sources and they ruin the Print Heads on the Canon printers. They ruined the Heads on my S900 and i950. I am now using the i960 with IDG refill kits and it is working great. It is also way cheaper than Canon OEM cartridges.

i don't understand how canon ink is so much cheaper then lexmark. i check all the sites up there and saw lexmark to be about 23.50 the cheapest why is this.

Ever hear of gillette razors? They give you the razor and screw you on the blades.

Canon deosn't do that as bad. And there are good alternative cartridges.

I picked up 30 cartridges for 160 on ebay about a year ago. I believe the seller wanted 40 a set(6 cartridges) and buy 4 sets get one free. The ink appeared to be legit canon ink, but it may have been for retail in asia.

canon cartridges don't replace the printer head... The head is also a consumable, I forget the expected lifetime right now. It's pretty high, but not infinite (5000 pages maybe?) Costs about $80 AFAIK. Laser would still be cheaper and FASTER for 12 reams at a time, no?

i still dont understand what do they screw you on? what you buy the printer w/o ink. or the the ink packs are quick in use. whats going on with them. if ink is 3-6$ a pack and it does what a normal pack does. hell i'll buy a canon just for that. my lexmark runs me 30$ for a black one.

Go to Costco and buy a refill kit. Mine was $23CDN and has lasted me for countless refills. If you know what you're doing you'll be fine. The Canon cartridges are very easily refilled.

If you print so much, invest in a laser printer, toner lasts for thousands of sheets.

You'd be surprised. In my old architectural office, we would go through at least two toners per year. The cost for the toner was something like $150CDN. You can buy alot of black in for that price.

Lexmark builds the print head into the cartridge.

Yes, you would be well advised to trash your Lexmark and go with a Canon.

i also use megatoners.com for all my ink cartridged (i have an epson, black are $1.99, color are $2.99 🙂 )

My parents bought the refill kit from costco, i was skeptical at first, but they work really well and are easy to fill. The only thing is you don't use some of the ink bottles, some bottles are labeled photo, and the instructions say the photo ink isn't compatible with canon.
