ATTENTION ATSF! Gamers Pouch is for you!

A good'ole forum member we all know, MoDeps, runs a website called Gamer Pouch. Its a website where you can log a free account, put all your games in there (as an inventory system if you will), and share the info with other people. I think its a great idea and think we should support MoDeps in his honest efforts. Its just a cool idea anyways. I've still got to get my games in there, but when I do I will be putting a link in my sign to it. 😀

So, go check it out, register, and add me to your buddy list 🙂

Cheers!

Wow, thanks for the good word Warcrow 😀 It's tough to find time to work on it these days with the house, the wife, and the work. It helps to motivate me a bit if people actually use it 😉

Hmm, I know they're being sent out... obviously, due to the fact people are signing up ok. Perhaps it found it's way into hotmail's spam? Or just denied outright?

Malladine and Sentri102 signed up as well and havent activated. Problems as well?

Heh, yahoo put the verification email into my bulk bin marked for deletion. But I was able to get to it in time.

Hey it might be too late for suggestions, but it'd be cool if you made developer / publisher into databases also. That way if someone enters "id software" then everyone is using that same entry instead of making up other entries. So you don't have an "id software" "ID Software" "I.D. Software" "id" or however else people feel like spelling it. Instead they'd just have a dropdown with a list of currently added developers or a choice to create a new one. That way you could also add developer information, ie homepage or whatever.

Too late? It's never too late! Although that may be tricky with the way things are currently setup 😉 I'll put it on the "list".

...thats a good idea, skace.

The surge of users (11+ in the past 2 days) has made me more interested in getting things accomplished. Thanks Warcrow! I've been talking with the guy that did the logo for the site, and he's agreed to draw up some custom user avatars.... of course, there will be at least one ninja. I like getting excited again.

Thanks everyone. Please spread the word if you like what you're seeing.

No prob man, but you have yourself to thank. Its just a great idea and convenient as well.

Thanks again.

I've added a few new features... Finally, the forgot password function is in, and people can comment on news posts.

Haha, dont worry about it, I'm just glad it's functioning properly. Although I dont like that it's being put in the junk folders... I may have to look into how to avoid that.

What about forums!?!?! Every site nowadays has to have a forum 🙂.

EDIT: I'd like to see this site succeed where atgamers.com failed. You have much more talent working on this site than I did with atgamers.com, plus a lot of greater ideas.

Wow, thanks for the kind words man. I appreciate it.

You're the second person to suggest forums (warcrow the first, and has offered to be a mod 😉) The problem with that is that seeing I've got my own user system, it wont tie well into any of the current out of the box solutions... so I'll have to write my own. I may put off the forums for a little while though, seeing that I've got a bunch of other features I'd like to implement first.

You are right about the difficulties of having forums on a self-made system. It would be imperative IMO that the forums tie directly into main site, with usernames and games and data to be cohesive. However, I suggest you add atleast a basic forum structure to current to-do list for the near future. Your PAO system is nice, and will keep people coming back, but a forum system with tracked stats (i.e. post count) will, IMO, boost the traffic significantly.

EDIT: Also, I think in order for your FS/FT idea to work (which is implemented very well by the way), forums will be needed to discuss trades and prices. I know you have a PM system, but it only goes so far.

Oh definately, I wouldnt want people to sign up twice... Not only that, but I'd probably tie it into the PAO system at some point.

The way I invisioned FS/FT to work, was this.... a user would flag a game in their collection as FS/FT, then another user could check out all the games under a certain platform and also check heat/ebay feedback before contacting the user via PM. Forums, however, may make the site look more alive. The only things right now that show that people are using it, are the news page and the stats page.

Yote, I'm currently installing CS:SDS on the box for all your Counter-Strike Source server needs. Hopefully people can dig it. I know I do.
