I'd go and tell my school to prove it. And they better have pictures or something, then that brings up other issues if they start spying on you.

But God forbid a private baptist school does something similar based on a signed contract, how dare they, do they think they are in Saudi Arabia?

Guess I hit a nerve. Let's forget for a moment that your examples aren't of a dogmatic nature like the OP, and bear nothing in common with the Saudi Arabian penchant for this kind of behavior (while we're at it, let's also set aside my acknowledgment of their private rights as a school).

I wish I could see this contract and where it states that the student can't attend social functions of his choice, off campus. If you read the OP, it states his 'case' was deliberated by a school group, which didn't exactly cite anything contract related, but instead threatened him. It should be noted that his attendance to the prom doesn't expose the baptist school to any liability, yet another way your apples to oranges comparison falls flat on it's face.

Since I'm wishing, I'd like to see you make an intelligent comparison/argument for once. This story smacks of the same kind of religious nanny-ism employed by The House of Sa'ud. If you can't see that, well... too bad. But don't let that stop you from defending horsehit like this story. Go sing a hymn, lest the syncopated devil music corrupt your soul!!! I became friends with some guys who were doing time in the Pensacola Bible College when I lived in FL. They all had pretty dismal opinions of that school as I recall. Not sure if it's baptist, but I'll never forget one of these guys recounting how he got "the book thrown at him" over his actions with a female student. He got suspended, put on probation, and had his parents notified to the extent that they traveled into town to meet with faculty and scold him.

I'm thinking, crap, this guy is as clean cut as they come, don't think I've ever heard him even swear once. What the hell could he have done? What, first base? :laugh:

I shit you not: the affront he committed was, and I quote "visual intercourse with a female student." Dude gave a couple of sly looks to a girl he had a crush on, who was about 100ft away on a separate veranda, and she blushed. It was observed by a teacher and he was busted. Apart from no cane being involved, that is exactly the kind of stuff the Saudi mutawaen pull with Arab kids.

Apparently, the father says he will sue the school. If so, I don't think he has a leg to stand on.
