Attempted Theft Ends In Death

Saw something last night where some urban youths robbed a street vendor. Street vendor grabbed the robbers gun and shot and killed him. Other guy fled, was found, and charged with his death. Apparently there, death as a result of a felony makes the other guy responsible. Not sure I agree with that part, but it took 2 bad dudes off the street.

You didn't know that? It's called Felony Murder. You're held responsible for any deaths that occur as a direct result of a felony you committed. Even if you didn't directly kill someone or intended someone to die. The idea is that the now dead person would be alive if you hadn't committed the felony, so you're to blame.

Haha, idiot. What happened to all the stuff? I wonder if it was still working and was returned to BesBuy.

I don't know if this is karma. I would say it's a case of stupidity. I mean really, running across a highway?

Haha, nice, but just as fuct up as the traffic rule that it's your fault if you hit someone going straight even if you had the left turn green light.

Yeah. I'm well aware of the felony murder rule (dunno if it applies to all states).

Just seen it applied in cases where it didn't warrant it.

I just heard a story the other day. Two guys were trying to rob a teen of his PSP, the teen that was being robbed broke free with the PSP and was running from the robbers when he was hit and killed by a car. The robbers were eventually found and are charged with felony murder.
