No, but I once saw a man with a towel-looking rag wrapped around his head...he MUST have been a radical Islamist!!
Get a rope.

How many of you have actually been attacked by a radical Islamist?

Not your country. Not your neighbor. Not your friend. Not someone who lived with your cousin's sister's co-worker's friend's roomate's dog walker.

You.

Actually you, being in reciept of a physical assault by a radical Islamic fundamentalist, who sees you as a "westerner" / non-Mulsim and proceeds to physically assault you, with the intention to kill you.

How many times has that happened to you?

How would one be able to determine the bolded parts?

I have been "attacked" by/in fights with persons who looked Middle Eastern. Is that OK?

They were not able to kill me, so maybe that does not count?

The answer is no. No one was ever attacked (personally) for being viewed as an enemy of Islam, in the eyes of a radical Muslim.

Yet, there is countless threads and posts about the religion of peace - making a mocking, yet sweeping, "point" about how bad Islam is.

Yes, there are news stories about radicals doing all sorts of horrible things. But, that doesn't even amount to the 10% Glenn Beck came up with.

So, Islam isn't anymore radical, terrorist or violent than any other extreme sect of a particular entity (be it of a religion, movement or an idea). None the less, most of you use the misery & pain of others (victims of terrorism) to justify your hate and fear of Islam itself. And, you still consider yourselves "good" or better, than even the innocent Muslims and even Arabs that are hurt.

Karma can be one nasty bitch. And most of you have been smacking her around for quite some time.

Are we talking derka derka jihad radical muslim or pretty awesome you're rad radical muslim?

Either case is no. Not unless you count that one time in vietnam...

FTFY - though it's still probably not right. There might be those who served in the ME that were attacked.

You mean on the battlefield? Sorry, I am not counting that. It's a warzone, it's expected. We are there to kill terrorists, so, they will naturally try to kill us back.

Or, American civilians who live in the Middle East and were attacked for being American?

I am talking about a regular civilian, or military person, who is living and normal civilian day and is attacked by a radical Islamist. Be it part of a suicide bomb attack, gun fire, etc. I'll even take being spat at.

But, I am not counting attacks on the battlefield. Again, it's expected.

Generally a man dressed in traditional garb (or not!) yelling "Praise Allah" and running at you with something more dangerous than a toothbrush (unless you are in prison and the handle was sharpened), then you were probably attacked for some other reason than being obnoxious, wearing the wrong color, or simply sleeping with his wife.

My guess.

soldier, doesn't make it any less of an attack by a radical muslim.

Debatable.

Just like the comment about the Nazi's. If you were taken to a concentration camp, it definitely ranked higher on the hate scale than being shot at by someone who you were shooting at.

Same thing with the acts of violence by our own native skinheads.

While your own attacks can be classified as, literally, attacked with the intent to kill by a radical muslim... it is more an act of war fueled by hatred than an act of hatred aimed at the citizenry of a nation (that is not attacking them, or their country).

MP's question is definitely chum in the water, but the point I think he is trying to make is that we are simply being led, like generations before us, to hate a "common enemy" so that we can ignore the enemy within.

Maybe the next generation can genuinely start fearing China, or maybe even Russia again!

Those were the days.....

Do you believe the world is round or flat? Have you ever personally sailed completely around the world and not fallen off the other side? So how can you tell me the world is not flat?

Have you ever personally been raped? No? Then how can you call rapists evil/deserving of jail time if you don't know what it's like to get raped?

Were you ever personally forced into a gas chamber and killed along with dozens of your family and friends? Then how can you sit here and pass judgment on the Nazis?

soldier, doesn't make it any less of an attack by a radical muslim.

As a civilian, I choose to live my life as I see fit. When terror strikes, my life is turned upside down. I am wounded, harmed and I suffer at the hands of someone who wants me dead because of who I am.

As a soldier, you have choosen and accepted the direction and orders of US' military leaders. If they order you to invade France, you will do it, yes? You have accepted being placed in harm's way.

I respect your choices and admire it, because I could not pull it off - most importantly, thank you - but, you put yourself in that position.

A civilian did not and does not "welcome" or place themselves in harm's way. They didn't do anything to draw an attack from a radical Islamist.

As a soldier, you are on their homeland.

The fear of Islam on these boards stems from the constant and ever present thought that someone will attack you because you are not a Muslim. You will be the victim of terror, at the hands of a radical Islamist.

As a soldier, you are not a victim. You are pretty fucking far from being a victim, ever.

Maybe the next generation can genuinely start fearing China, or maybe even Russia again!

If I had the choice to fight an idea/feeling or an army - I would take on the army.

Radical Islam is an idea/feeling, a very very strong one. But, it doesn't represent everyone that is part of Islam.

Terrorism's greatest victory is getting most Westerners to fear EVERY Muslim, to the point where said Westerners lash out at innocent Arabs and Muslim. Which, in turn, will create further hate and fear of the West. The innocent Arab/Muslim now has a reason to hate the West and support the radical Islamist.

Letting the fear of terrorism twist your preception of Islam and Arabs is the 1st step to creating an actual physical army of radical Islamists.

I had an Islamist attack me with grape flavored tobacco from something he called an "ubbly bubbly". It was quite nice actually.

How many of you have actually been attacked by a shark?

Not your country. Not your neighbor. Not your friend. Not someone who lived with your cousin's sister's co-worker's friend's roomate's dog walker.

You.

Actually you, being in reciept of a physical assault by a shark, who sees you as a "meal" / non-shark and proceeds to physically assault you, with the intention to kill and eat you.

How many times has that happened to you?

Seriously this is a dumb question

Just as dumb as being afraid of sharks, when you don't even swim and live in a land locked city/town/state.

I am afraid of anything that would probably try to kill me if I met it. My fear is one of the things that helps me avoid meeting things that would probably try to kill me.
