Hey, does anyone on here work for AT&T wireless? I need someone who is going to be more helpful than the people I've talked to in the stores... Shoot me an email or PM if you do.

Actually I have a quick question... since Cingular and AT&T are merging, do I still get charged extra now if I am roaming in Cingular's network?

Well, I am going to upgrade my plan get a new phone (actually 2 new phones), but I can get a heck of a lot better deal going though an outside vendor then AT&T. I am locked in a contract though for another year and I want to get out of it (I've already gone to the store to see if they will price match the deal I can get). I mean, I just need to get out of the contract and cancel my current plan, I'll be back with them the exact same day I cancel my contract though, so I don't see it being a huge deal.

cause you're cancelling a contract for a better deal, att loses money, and they lack the customer service to help you out regardless

sorry man. glad my att contract expired yesterday, i have service till the 12th then i'm FREEEEEEEE.

So you don't think its a big deal to AT&T to have to shell out 2 new phones to someone they already have under contract and probably already gave a deal to in order to get them under contract?

Well, when I can get two new phones for free anyway, it's still cheaper to just pay the cancelation fee and do it that way than to go directly through AT&T to get two phones and pay full price, yes I do. About 300 dollars cheaper. Sprint and TMobile both worked with me when I wanted to upgrade my plan and get new phones. The way I see it right now, I can either keep my current plan and pay 39 dollars a month for the next 10 months and then go to a totally new provider after that and never have anything to do with them agian, or I can do what I want, get this contract canceled, turn around and get a new contract and pay them 80 dollars a month for the next two years. I think AT&T will make more money regardless. But then again, what do I know? I'm sure 390 dollars is more money to them then the 1920 dollars they would make by just letting me cancel it early.
