I have beatmaker. Pissed I spent $20 on it, and now it's like $10, but it's certainly well made.

There's nanostudio and Sunvox that do mildly different things, and of course, there's rebirth, which I remember when it was first made for Windows.

Anyway, the question: What are the best music authoring apps on the iPhone? (iPhone4, in my case). Actual recording software isn't really needed, as much as instrument/authoring software, preferably stuff that either has built in sequencers or is otherwise interoperable with some other app, so I can put everything together. So, I guess, it'd work if I could make a synth in Sunvox, use it to make a beat in beatmaker, export the beat to Nanostudio and then record a guitar track live with that, that's cool. But generally I'm looking for something like that...I see some cool music stuff, I'm just not sure if it's stand alone (making cool noises, but not being able to record/export them doesn't do me a lot of good) or what.

Ya dig?

What about obnoxious photo tweaking aps, a la Hipstamatic? Inifinilens or whatever? What's the best one there?

Other places to look?

I love hipstamatic. I only wish i could import photos from the photo library rather than having to shoot them. it takes quite some time to 'process' each photo so forget about taking multiple shots. that kind of makes it hit or miss. I also have infinicam, which does take photos from the library .. its ok. hipsta seems to make much more dramatic photos. keep in mind you will need to purchase the addons if you want more lenses, film, etc. I bought them all and have zero regrets. Photography is a big hobby of mine if that makes a diff to you.
