Remove Kharg Island Rush from the rotation. Like, now. That crap is retarded. No one can even get remotely close to the first MCOM.

I have having zero luck getting traffic to my 64 man conquest server, 10 people is most we've gotten. Gonna give rush a shot and see how it goes.

I don't like anything over 32 man. Just too much stuff going on over that count
for me.

Jschmuck -

I was thinking it would be helpful to add both Origin names and forum names to the first post - the Origin names are there, but a lot of us ended up having to pick a name that was different from our forum name.

I know it's a ton of work to update, though...should we all repost our names with both names in the post, like this, so you can just cut and paste?

i really like playing on this server. its kinda cool to see names i know from here. except zakhail. cause he's always killing me, lol.

no one is using mumble yet? the server was almost full when i was on it last night, went to mumble and i was the only person there, lol.

edited to also express thanks for the people spending time getting everything going. i have yet to have any crashes when i am on the AT server, but you all seem to be really on top of things.

So after getting owned most of the night I logged off for a bit (I think server crashed) and searched about this 'spotting' thing. Never new it existed. I am still not completely sure how it works, but once I started using the 'Q' key, I started to suck much less and my K/D ratio improved.

I was always wondering how people could spot me so easily and I think I know why now. It appears that the engine has some built in method to determine if someone is viewable and then flags that person? In other words, if I bot could see you, then the spot key would work. Or am I wrong?

Then I pulled up a youtube video from someone in beta using the spot key and killing people without even seeing them because he just shot at the red icon. I can't say I really care for the spotting.

However, I wish I could remap the Q key... It doesn't work properly.

Is there any other details about the 'Q' Spotting option? Any tips and pointers? If so, anyway to avoid being spotted easily?

Edit -- And, yes, much thanks for running a server we can all play on. :D

spotting is a big help for your squad/team. as much as you dont like being spotted, neither does anyone on the other team. plus it helps you get points. i try to spot everyone i can, even if i know i cant actually shoot them. spotting vehicles is a huge help to your team. plus, it seems they have changed it a bit, so that even spotted people cant be seen if they go behind something. in bc2 that dorito was over your head no matter where you were. =/

Yes, but my main complaint with it thus far is that someone can be entrenched in an area where realisticly no one would be able to see him. But someone hits the the 'Q' key and then puts an icon giving away their position. Sure, I mean, I don't like campers, but I do find it a bit silly to be able to give someone's position away even though you don't actually see them (with your eyes naturally)

But on the flip side, this helps campers even more. They can lay prone in a dark building and prey on all the noobs that run through the choke points. They can tap 'Q' and blast you away.

However, I'll play some more before I make a firm opinion. But my initial thoughts are that I'd prefer spotting removed. But for all I know that might break the game mechanics. I am sure DICE knows more than I do as to gameplay balance. We'll see how it plays out.

SPotting doesn't work unless you have line of sight. Once spotted if you lose line of sight you lose 3D spotting, still shows up on the minimap.

I've had essentially no problems since I started playing last week, but last night I was getting the "connection to the server has timed out" issue repeatedly. A few of the times my interet connection went out entirely and had to reboot my modem. Strange.

Anyhow, have had a lot of fun playing with you guys prior to that. Hopefully I can get the issue sorted out because now I am starting to suck marginally less than before.

This, spotting was not working properly in beta so don't take anything from those videos.

A quick tap of 'q' will let you spot, holding it brings up the commo rose.

Yeah, I gathered that. But humor me... Lets take my field of view. I am looking at a building with all 16 windows on my screen. The building is dark inside, so I actually can't see a guy hiding in window 12. However, since my screen is pointed there, when I tap the 'Q' key it reveals his position to me. Is this incorrect? Because I am pretty sure that is how it was working for me last night.

I spot distant snipers with my IR scope so that our snipers can take them out even though my carbine can't at that range. Teamwork FTW.
