ATPN Presidental Satisfaction Poll

Add: I voted for him and he's doing alright, but there is definitley room for improvement and I feel a little betrayed.

Boy this is an easy one to predict. Not mocking, it just comes up every few weeks here.

Don't doubt it does, but every few weeks there can be a change in the climate, political or otherwise. 😉

Totally true, things can change, and I have seen a few minds turn around here, or at least take a new point of view.

But here goes the crystal ball.......

~60% Didn't vote for him and hate him
~2% Voted for him and now don't like him
~30% Voted for him and love him
~8% Variance

I'm proud to say I recognized Bush as what he is from the very beginning, and have had the pleasure of voting against him three times, beginning in the 2000 primaries. 🙂

Katrina.

Abramoff scandal.

Bush approved NSA spying.

As a "liberal," what possibly could you be referring to as "doing a better job"???

Doing a better job at appointing cronies to important positions where they then exhibit levels of incompetence that can only be described as criminal?

Aiding and abetting corruption at record levels then refusing to release records of his aides' contacts with Abramoff as promised?

Destroying the Bill of Rights by illegally spying on innocent Americans?

Is that what you call "doing a better job"?

He hasn't lied to invade any more countries so far this term, we haven't any more 9/11's, and the illegal NSA spying really started during his first term. But don't worry, he has up to three more years to out-bad his first term. Never misunderestimate his ability to harm America.

As yes, there is the praise for GW I was looking for. He hasn't invaded the wrong country again, few civilian Americans have died from terrorist attack (although our uniformed countrymen are more than making up for it), and he only CONTINUED his illegal spying program.

Well, ******, forget the rules, I say he deserves another term!

While it is true that the Bush/NSA Spygate scandal began in his first term I include it in his second because, thanks to Bush calling the editors of the NY Times into the Oval Office to stop them printing the story, we didn't learn about it until Bush's second term when the Times' editors finally grew a set and published it.

Or maybe they just didn't want to get scooped again like they did in the Judith Miller debacle.

You have to look at the bright side--at least he hasn't nuked the country yet 😉

With countries like Iran out there we need a strong leader.

Kerry was a waif.

You've fallen for the same BS that a lot of other Americans fell for. Bush, the draft dodging AWOL champagne unit sissy as tough guy and Kerry the decorated war hero as "waif"?

How much is Karl Rove paying you to say you're a "liberal"???

Liberals for the most part are able to see through such nonsense.

Yeah, I was mostly just using that to reinforce my main point, that Bush was such an unmitigated failure in his first term, his second term almost -- almost -- has to be better.

As a conservative-leaning centrist, I think this buffoon, and those who direct him, are doing a piss poor job and I can't wait until their day of reckoning.

And how do you propose we deal with Iran with the limited resources we have. IMO we used our our cards on Iraq and now we lack the military force needed, and more importantly we lack the credibility to be seen as anything but a out of control trouble maker.

Poland might help us though.

Bush is a warmonger.

This administration feels like a five year-long train wreck.
Unfortunately, there's three more years to go.

I can't wait for the impeachment hearings to begin.

Who wants to bet on impeachment?

We DO need a strong leader...and George W. Bush is not that man. Kerry wouldn't have been that great, but he would still be better than Bush.

See, the problem is that "strong leader" is that many people look at a stubborn idiot and can't tell the difference. Strength is good, but only if it is moderated by intelligence. "Flip-flopping" is bad, but never changing your mind, even in the face of evidence to suggest your initial decision was the wrong one, is stupid beyond belief.
