YES!!!!!!1!1!!!1!!1!1!!ONETWOTHREE!!!! Super Mario Bros. 2 was by far the best.

Speaking of which:
Kings Quest VI
Heroes of Might and Magic III
Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe
(most people took my original picks)

EDIT: Spelling

Psychonauts (PC/console) - A long time comin' for probably the most original platformer since Mario
Silkworm (arcade/NES) - defined co-op for me
Metal Slug series - Needs no introduction, greatest series of all time

STUN Runner
Tron
Galaga, but someone else already said that, so I'll say Tron Deadly Discs (an old Intellivision game)

Did anyone actually read the OP? You can't nominate a game already nominated.

No. Nobody reads posts, and even fewer people read the thread.

Nominations close at 7:02PM on Monday.

Maybe if all the nominated games were in the OP then people wouldn't double-nominate them. I sure as fvck didn't read through the entire thread to make sure I made original nominations.

Assuming MOST people play by the rules, reading the entire thread takes exactly the same amount of time as reading a massive list in the OP.

Starcraft (its been said)
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Soul Calibur (Dreamcast)

I want to say Counter Strike as well, simply for the utterly massive replayability, however I think that for its genre, Soul Calibur is better.

Also, World of Warcraft, Everquest, etc, are games that are designed with the purpose of life replacement, so I move that these be separated from our list.

"Life replacement"... wtf are you smoking...:roll:

I'd like to nominate World of Warcraft. I was very lucky to get in while it was in beta. It was my first mmorpg, but by-far it's been the most engrossing, exciting and rewarding game experience I've ever had.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
Chuck Yeager's Air Combat-nothing like him tellin you bought the farm again!
Solitaire (best every b/c what else can you do at work without looking guilty?)

StarCraft (w/ Brood War Expansion) - this is the definitive real-time strategy game, the best ever made. No one, not even Blizzard themselves, have made one to surpass it since its release. You could be endlessly occupied figuring out every strategy and counter-strategy, every possible build order, every little micro-management technique. Even with its dated graphics, its still fun to go back and play today. It was also completely playable on a 56k modem and with a wide range of hardware - something game manufacturers just don't bother with anymore - and included a complete map editor (which added to replayability)

Max Payne - the first FPS in existence which realisticly and effectively integrates bullet-time into gameplay - and actually has a decent storyline to boot.

I can't think of anything else (which hasn't already been nominated) that deserves a shot at best game ever, so only two nominations from me.

HL1/2, Diablo 1/2, Quake1, Doom1/2, Baldur's Gate1/2, Deus Ex, UT original and 2k4, Tie Fighter, Starcraft, Warhammer 40k: DOW

Chuck Yaeger's Air Combat is one of the BEST classic PC games. Very good choice 🙂

Eternal Darkness (Gamecube)
Skies of Arcadia (Dreamcast) (or Gamecube if no dreamcast is available)
You don't know Jack
