first college class at 12? dear god
that's like something you'd see in the news!!
well i was in grade 7 or 8 at 12... holy SH!T....

It's more common than you probably think.

evidently!!
probably just not anything i knew of cause i don't think it happened at my elemetary school to my knowledge!! or even at my high school.

Kinda sad, but i dont think i have ever been on television, or seriously been introduced to a famous person in my entire life. Im not even one of those "weird goofy geeks" I mean come on what does a person have to do to get on television besides touting guns, streaking during a baseball game, or eating disgusting things.

I just started a web-business... And I sleep on top of a pile money, with many beautiful women 😀

All $14.99 of it.

I was doing some game programming before college (my 1999 vanity site) and got a nice letter about one of them from SF author C. J. Cherryh (who wrote several of her books on an Atari 800).

I did pretty well at college (deans list, merit scholarships, etc.) but that's not too unusual for ATOT.

At MicroCase (another stale page) I was lead developer of Windows software that has shipped with over a million college textbooks and is still being used by Wadsworth publishing, along with a web-based version I did for them in 2000 (Yet Another Link)

At Respondus (www.respondus.com), I'm lead developer of our content-creation application used at over 2,000 colleges in over 40 countries.

Nothing terribly exciting, but I can say I've had an effect on the world and enjoyed doing it. Except for the occasional death marches, but no job is perfect 🙂

[ ed ] oh, and I know the web pages are primitive, I haven't updated them since 1999.

Some of my artwork in 3rd grade was picked to be put in a nationally available art book... can't remember the name now.

When I was 11, I hacked in the my high schools enrollment system and removed all other student except myself and added all kinds of names like Oscar Meyer Jr., I. P. Freely, Myanus Itches, and a few others. I was the only one for the first day of class.

Ohhh, that second thing didn't really happen, but it would have been funny! 🙂

Well my dad works for the City of L.A., and is pretty high up there I guess.

Never did it, but if I chose to I could easily meet whoever the Mayor of L.A., and a slim chance of meeting the governor...

Me? I'm a nobody. 😛

Part of the regular Pipeline surfing crew 1992-1999.

Professional surf forecaster (30 "accurate" North Shore forecasts in-a-row one Winter month - a "record", I believe) and radio/tv surf reporter.

Radio DJ and Morning Show Producer for a popular FM station in a "medium" market

Published writer with one news magazine "cover story"

Had a few programs on download.com during 7/8th grade got about 20,000 downloads then hypermart asked me to pay and i never updated the download link...eh not much of an accomplishment heh

Right now.. uhh.. I competed in the Battle of the Boxes question game in Industry.. 😱

Oh, I was on our 7th and 8th grade basketball team that went undefeated both years, defeating out opponents by an average of 27 points. 🙂

When I was 12, I stopped picking my nose..

...man I feel dumb now.

EDIT: Oh yea, and my cat's breath DOES smell like cat food.
You have a lame cat . . . (I have to brag about my cat . . . again)

My cat eats CHEESE and sits by the mouse hole with BAITED-breath 😛

😀

I'm on the radio everyday, and my dad and his fellow army grunts beat up Elvis Presley and threw him off base in a drunken rage (before he was famous).

I'm sure there's some truth to that. Maybe it was Elvis Costello? lol

Oh yeah, I almost forgot: When I was 16 I had a huge mp3 server at Ole Miss. It was pretty popular, I was one of the top ones on Lycos' MP3 search thing. Anyway, I left the computer on during a holiday breal and it overheated. The FTP server couldn't read it's config file, and when I came back, I had more than 750 people logged in. My computer saturated the bandwidth for Ole Miss and all of northern Mississippi. Businesses, schools, and people couldn't log on for days.

I had to talk to the FBI people, and they were talking about confiscating my computer and me going to jail and stuff like that. The only reason that I didn't was because I basically kissed ass to the network admin. They told me that if I ever ran an mp3 server again, I'd go to jail. I heard that it made the news, but I'm not sure.

Also, I got my first college credit at 9.

i'm involved with quite a few interesting, unconventional things on and off the web, but i've never been widely known for anything. in high school i had about 3/8" holes in my ears before it became a fad 😉 and people always seemed interested in them...but that's not exactly impressive 😛

edit: in standardized tests in high school, i got a 99% score, in 6th grade i scored as a 13th grader, that counts for something doesnt it? 🙂

too bad my personality and methods of operation are not compatible with the rest of the world, and therefore, here i am at age 19, back in high school for the second time, 6 years after my first high school class, trying to hurry up and get it over with so i can get my ass to college and start becoming enlightened 😛

another edit: hmm, i do have two projects on freshmeat too, still not exactly anything close to "fame".
