ATOTers in Dallas?

Dallas ATOTers, I need you.

Arriving into the Dallas downtown area via train tomorrow, and I need to find a good way to DFW that doesn't involve paying a sweaty guy who doesn't speak english $25. Any suggestions? Anyone bored and want to give me a ride?

The trinity railway express will take you there. You can ride a DART bus to a DART Rail station, then make your way to Union Station where you can switch over to the TRE.

OK, sounds good. Can you explain that a little bit more for me, though?

Look at the DART site linked to above. Figure out where you'll be coming into Dallas (I don't even know how you get here on a train...) then locate a bus stop nearby. You should be able to buy a DART pass from the driver for like $5 that'll be good for the bus and the train. Then just ride the bus to a train station and go from there.

I hope you're not on a tight schedule to get to an airplane, because it may take quite a while to do it the DART way.

Well, I think I'm going to be coming in a whole freaking day early to eliminate that possibility. I could take the train friday, arrive in Dallas around 4:30(I'm guessing, scheduled for 1:20), for a flight at 7:30. Not too happy about that one, or about spending the night in the airport.

Cant you grab a motel room? The DFW airport is virtually encircled by cheap, decent hotels that all have shuttle service.

Agreed. At least you don't have to worry about HIM while you're in Dallas. 😀

I don't know, man- those hobos at Union Station are pretty serious.

Follow-up: Took the Trinity Rail from the train station to the stop of DFW, ticket cost of $2.25, plus the hobo tax. Took a free shuttle from there to remote south parking, and another from there to my terminal. Works great.
