It's almost a beauty contest, like Mrs/Mr ATOT or some sh!t and that is totally lame.

They're fun for this reason;
You get to see what everyone looks like and then make fun of them, like you for instance Nik, you're fat and ugly

I'm glad you find it so humorous; however, I think it's extremely childish for you to find humor in calling someone else fat/ugly.
