i've always used cheap aldi soap, nothing great but it does the job. recently i tried some old spice body wash, and while it smells nice it just seems less... clean.
what kind of soap is best for the body, mind and spirit?
There were some good tips in that cologne thread, haha. Things I learned from ATOT on how to smell good:
1. Shower daily (duh). Speedrun by using a 2-in-1 shampoo, a loofah, and shave in the shower; body wash optional (but can also leave you smelling like a teenager at a school dance, so that's something to consider).
2. Use deodorant (duh). Recommend stick, not spray (easy to overdo it with spray).
3. Good colognes
do exist. I settled on Bvlgari Eau De Toilette spray for Men for everyday usage and Acqua Di Gio by Giorgio Armani for special occasions. I recommend FragranceX.com; be sure to check out RetailMeNot for coupon codes. The catch with colognes is that you go noseblind to them almost immediately (people tend to reek of the stuff because you can't tell how much you've applied after using it); the trick is to spirtz it in the air in front of you & above your head just once and then walk through the mist. Then, dab the drip from the nozzle under each of your ears & between your collarbones on your chest. This way, it's not overpowering, and you smell good when you get hugged. Also, if you're going out, try to get ready early so that you don't smell like you just bathed in cologne before you showed up - give it time to tone down a bit.
4. Clothing smell is half the battle. Use a good brand of laundry detergent (ex.Tide, just don't eat the pods, they won't make you smell good) & use fabric softener in the washing machine, and use a dryer sheet in the dryer.
I guess it works, because my wife said I smell good & married me. Thank you #ATOTeffect!
