It was a vast improvement over TPM but wasn't as good as ESB or ANH.

I'll give it 4 stars....

4 Stars... I would give it 4.5 stars but even as good as the film was it still had some "down" time.

The problem with this is that its too early and probably skewed higher than what it would normall be. Because the only people that watched it now (for the most part), or the uber star wars geeks who would pretty much love it anyways, simply because its star wars.

I spoiled the movie for myself by checking all the websites and reading the Ep2 novelization. Bad move. Since I knew exactly what was going to happen, it took away the edge and the excitement. I found myself thinking how predictable it was, when I realized that it is predictable because I already knew what was going to happen.

Bottom line is that fans who liked Star Wars I, IV, V, and VI will like this one, and the ones who disliked Star Wars I or Star Wars IV, V, VI will not like it. People seem pretty set in their opinions before they even see the movie.

The best quote from a critic about the movie is this:

None of this, of course, will matter to the scores of millions who've grown up with Star Wars and for whom this installment will be as much a religious as a cultural event. They will find any and all objections beside the point, even infuriating?although the last I heard, the moviegoing galaxy was a democratic republic and not a fascist empire. With all the screaming Lucasoids on one side and all the hand-wringing critics on the other, it might be hard to remember that Attack of the Clones is more or less OK. And not especially important.

About sums it up there............not especially important.

Why is it that overall the boards liked it, but like everyone who got the bad quality screener didn't like it? I mean, I understand it's bad quality, but you should still get a good idea of what the movie is like and all. There shouldn't be a HUGE discrepancy like this.

Yeah I'm realizing that. 30 PPL have voted to see results which means they can't go back and vote what they thought. Maybe another one should get put up later... I don't know.

The movie still kicked ass

For the record, I loved the original Star Wars movies but HATED Episode I (TPM) !! I did however REALLY enjoy this movie! I have NO idea how you could love Spider Man but hate this movie. I liked Spider Man but this movie was WAY better! It finally looks like Lucas is getting back to a REAL Star Wars movie. I have no idea what he was trying to do with Episode I. :p

I won't see it on a non-DLP Analog projector since basically everybody says that version sux. Leave it to Lucas to be such a pr!ck, um... visionary that he goes ahead and films it totally on digital to drag the movie industry into the digital age and thereby PENALIZES almost everyone!

SW2 opens on 6000 screens only 56 in North America are Digital!!! There are only another 31 world wide!

So let's see, 87 / 6000 = 1.45% of the screens are digital! That means that roughly 99% of viewers will get a sub-par experience! Way to go George!

I mis-spoke, there are plans afoot to up the number of DLP's to 100 if a demand is seen, that should
significantly up the percentage to hmmmm, let's see...

100 DLP's in NA + 31 Internationally = 131

131 / 6000 = 2.18 %

So that's only 97.82% of viewers left out... Sorry, my bad

I laughed, I cried, I kissed 6 bucks goodbye...gladly!This was an awesome movie...something you expect from a star wars flick...Scenes/lines I thought were a little corny were enjoyed by the high school kids... so it put me in my place. I definately recommend seeing it..the story actually moved along better than the critics gave credit...and anakin was played well in displaying his emotions. I plan on seeing it in digital at the metreon in a week!!! May have to go watch it again in the meantime. 4.5 to lucas for satisfying my SW hunger.

It was pretty good, but Anakin was pathetic. I couldn't stand him at all. I understand how they were trying to portray his frustration and him acting on impulses and such, but its like they did it so that 4 years olds could understand it. By the end of the movie I was expecting Anakin to just ask Padme "Hey, I lost my number, could I borrow yours?" or any number of other corny pickup lines. Honestly, if he wasn't bitching like a little kid having a tantrum about how he is so good or how he doesn't want to follow orders, he was hitting on Padme. They could have really portrayed that better, and much less bluntly.

Other than that I liked it a lot, though it seemed like either so much happened in so little time, or so little happened in so much time. The light saber battles at the end were crap too. Yoda was awesome, but it was over so quick and happened so fast and blurry that you had no clue what the hell was going on. I liked the Darth Maul battle from Episode I better.
